hermaphrodite parent

In her haste to speak, the Infant Phenomenon will sometimes forget which parent she is talking to. Mummy is called Daddy and Daddy is confused with Mummy. When I am at the receiving end of such abuse, I give the fruit of my loins a fixed stare and the following exchange takes place.

Me (in mock indignation): Mummy? MUMMY?!?  Do I wear glasses?
Her (giggling): No!
Me: Do I have long black curly hair?
Her (still giggling): No!
Me: Do I have... BOOBIES?!?
Her: NO!!!

'No I don't!' I told her the other day, 'And if I did, I'd look like THIS'. Reaching for a pen and paper, I quickly scribbled the figure at the bottom left of the image shown above (a piece I am titling Self-portrait with female accoutrements). She was quite taken with this and immediately set about producing a copy (her version can be found at the top of the picture).

As a parent, I am naturally proud of anything the Infant Phenomenon does but I feel that this latest foray in the field of the visual arts is a huge achievement. For one thing, the resemblance to her mother is uncanny...
