rejected murder mysteries pt. 349

London. 1926. Across the nation's capital, a number of butchers are found dead. Brutally murdered. The police are baffled. The only clue to the identity of the perpetrator is the calling card left at the scene of each crime on which is found printed the image of a slice of pork pie.

On secondment to Scotland Yard, the great French detective Arsene Cocques sets out to investigate. But who is the mysterious one-armed trombonist? And how is a painting of two dead crabs connected to the murders?
