Portraits of various Star Trek crew members. The version of McCoy at bottom right is the best likeness here, although the distance between nose and mouth is too much (something to be corrected with a little digital trickery). Also happy with the giant green space hand – from the episode Who Mourns for Adonis? – and the dry brush border which I aim to use more in future.

Four aborted Paul Hollywoods (top middle is quite good), an attempt at Sandi Toksvig which, with some later additions made the cut, and a usable, if slightly dull drawing of GBBO contestant Jon.

stegosaurus

Drawing of a Stegosaurus in the Natural History Museum. I couldn't fit the original into my book, hence the disembodied feet and head floating above the body of the original (top). So I've made an edit of the original drawing to put things back where they should be (bottom). On the original exhibit, the tail curved round the body and was thus hidden from my point of view – a shame as an extended tail would have made for a more dynamic drawing.

As I was working on this, a young American woman approached me and asked if she could take a photograph (of my sketchbook and thankfully not of me), explaining that her husband/boyfriend had worked on constructing the fossil and that he would be pleased to see someone making a sketch of it.

I opened my GBBO account here, with the first two drawings of Rahul (right). Also squeezed in a decent portrait of Jon, a first attempt at Kim-Joy which is also pretty good, and Dua Lipa managed to creep into the double spread too.
